WEDDING PRICING

YOURS FOR THE DAY
Depending on the type of celebration, a full day’s coverage for me usually lasts about 10-12 hours. I’ve known some to gradually wind down after dinner, I’ve known others to be still going strong at 2am in the hotel pool. Either way, I start a good two hours before the ceremony and stay for at least an hour after the first dance. For this reason, I keep things simple and offer just one package.

THE INVESTMENT
I work on a first come, first served basis and whilst some parts of the year can be quieter than others, the spring and summer months can get booked up well in advance.

PRE-CEREMONY PREP
Any type of pre-ceremony preparation is one of my favourite things to document. For me, it’s less about photographing hanging dresses and polished cufflinks and more about capturing the excitement and nervous energy that is so unique to that part of the day. Sometimes it can be a moment of quiet reflection and others it’s a chance to see off a few drinks with your best mates. Either way, it’s intimate, it’s significant to you and your gang and it’s a lot of fun to be a part of!
.
THE CEREMONY
Whether it lasts ten minutes or two hours, takes place in a cathedral or in the local boozer, your ceremony is the headliner, the main event, the reason that all your people have come together. It’s a beautiful, expressive, emotional moment and I pick my spots to make sure that I don’t miss a thing. It’s also a deeply personal experience and I treat it accordingly. The last thing anyone needs when committing their life to another person is a volley of flashes and a camera lens popping up between their legs.

GROUP PHOTOS
‘Family Formals’, as they’re unaffectionately known, are often dismissed as being ‘stuffy’ or ‘old fashioned’, which really doesn’t have to be the case. I usually ask my couples to write down a short list of proposed groups in one our planning meetings to keep things quick and simple on the day. Then it’s just a case of getting your nearest and dearest in place for a quick snap and then back to the bar asap. If your gran wants to throw gang signs and your nephew refuses to wear a shirt, then that’s all good. Families are complicated and I’m here for it. .
.
THE PORTRAITS
Portraits of the two of you will organically happen throughout the day. A fit of giggles halfway through the ceremony, picking confetti out of each other’s teeth or inappropriately grinding on the dance floor are all types of opportunities where I can capture the both of you lost in the moment and at your natural best. That said, it’s always a good idea to take 15-20 mins out to have a little stroll with me and my camera. Nothing weird, nothing cringe-worthy, just a wander around the block for a few relaxed portraits, a chance to step back from the crowd and quietly appreciate your brand new life.

SPEECHES
A wedding is one of the few occasions in life that offers such an array of emotions all under one roof, and at no point is this more obvious, than during speeches. Whether they have people rolling in the aisles, sobbing into their champers or cringing behind their napkins, photographing people’s reactions to them all is one of my favourite parts of the day. Discreetly flitting from one table to the next allows me to capture you and your guests at your most beautifully unguarded and expressive.
.
THE DANCE FLOOR
The number one component of nailing any type of documentary photography is knowing when to quietly observe and when to get in on the action. The dance floor is definitely all about the latter. By the time the tunes start to drop everyone’s high on love and table wine, any pre-wedding nerves are long gone and even the most dedicated of wall-flowers are ready to throw shapes. Getting in amongst the flailing limbs and flying cocktails is the only way to capture this chaos in all its beauty.
